The Brown has many choices for Family Science Nights.  The Brown provides two curators and 15 science stations. We need volunteers to help in various ways. We will be hosting Silver Sands Middle School in the main building.

Volunteer: Space Day

Space Day

We are looking for volunteers to help us run our annual Space Day Event on March 14th, 2026.

We need assistance with hands-on activity tables, wayfinding, solar telescopes, and more. This is for a family audience, and we also run programs in the Auditorium and Planetarium with special shows and speakers.

The event will run from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Volunteers please arrive between by 10:30am for training!

Event Description:

Bring the whole family for a full day of activities at The Brown as we celebrate the day. This event will host an inspiring group of women from various disciplines to highlight the amazing achievements, accomplishments, and work that is being done in all areas of science. There will be guest speakers in the Lohman Planetarium, as well as presenters and demonstrations throughout the Museum.

A bonus if you have experience teaching science or K-12 education. We will provide training beforehand, as needed.
