Description

Volunteer Opportunity: Nova Society Social – Moving a Museum

We're looking for volunteers to help make our upcoming Nova Society Social on Thursday, July 23 a memorable experience for approximately 80 guests. This exclusive behind-the-scenes event offers a rare look inside the Museum's curatorial process during our closure, highlighting the extensive planning, assessment, documentation, and care required to steward more than 30,000 collection objects through the Museum's transition.

Guests will be divided into four groups for docent-led tours that explore the critical work happening behind the scenes before a single object is moved. Volunteers will play an important role in creating a welcoming and seamless experience throughout the evening.

Volunteer Responsibilities

  • Welcome and check in guests
  • Greet attendees upon arrival
  • Serve champagne and hors d'oeuvres
  • Assist with guest flow and wayfinding as needed

Volunteer Shifts

  • 4:30–8:00 p.m.  8 volunteers needed (including docent support)
  • 4:30–6:30 p.m.  3 volunteers needed for guest check-in and serving champagne and hors d'oeuvres

Dress Code: Elevated business casual; all-black attire is preferred.

Thank you for helping us create an exceptional experience for our Nova Society members while showcasing the fascinating work that takes place behind the scenes during this exciting chapter in the Museum's history.
