Who We Are
Since its inception as the Halifax Children’s Museum in 1955, MOAS has been formally recognized by both the City of Daytona Beach and the County of Volusia as the region’s cornerstone cultural and heritage institution. The objective of our educational programming is to provide opportunities for students and adults of all ages and abilities to expand their intellectual investigation within the broad areas of art, science, history and the environment.
What We Do
Volunteers help staff oversee and provide the wide variety of education offerings the Museum provides, which includes the Lohman Planetarium, the William's Children Museum, Family Science Nights, the Summer Learning Institute, field trips and more. Perfect opportunities to assistant kids and youth as they experience the wonders of art, science, history and the environment. Weekly, bi-weekly and episodic shifts are available, typically lasting between 2-4 hours, and training/support will be provided by specific staff leads.
