MOAS Space Day:
We are looking for volunteers to help us run our annual MOAS Space Day event on April 12, 2025. This is our largest space event of the year for MOAS and the Lohman Planetarium. We host special talks and shows in the planetarium, invite space-related vendors/organizations, and conduct hands-on activities and demonstrations that teach the space sciences.
We need assistance with hands-on activity tables in our Root Hall exhibition area, wayfinding, giving hand-outs at a check-in station, and more. This is a family event that runs for most of the day. Volunteers are needed between 10:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., with training beginning at 10:30 a.m.
Lunch is provided for volunteers and staff.
Event Description:
Join us for the Museum’s biggest celestial event of the year as we celebrate all things space in an engaging and interactive environment for the whole family. Learn about the science, exploration, and beauty of space through exciting lectures, shows in the Lohman Planetarium, hands-on activities, and solar observing with telescopes in our front entrance courtyard (weather permitting). Throughout the Museum, there will be displays and activities from MOAS, the GE Volunteers, ERAU’s ERFSEDS Rocket Club, Amateur Astronomy Club, Society of Women Engineers, and Astronomy Professors from the University’s Physical Sciences Department. A food truck will also be set up in our courtyard loop for your enjoyment. Stay tuned for our speaker and show lineup in the Lohman Planetarium. We cannot wait to see you for this out-of-this-world event.
